Welcome to The Busman's Holiday

Busman’s Holiday is a mission to drive a 1981 Bedford coach 2,500 miles from the UK to Russia to deliver 3 tonnes of wooden gymnasium flooring to a troupe of Chechnyan dancers - The Daimohk.

Daimohk was founded in 1998 in Grozny to give a generation of children surrounded by conflict and violence an outlet for creativity and self-expression. Daimohk perform acrobatics, sword throwing and traditional music from their homeland and are supported by the Center for Peacebuilding and Community Development (CPCD), a UK-based NGO.

Departing April 2006, the Busmen will drive through Europe, the Balkans, Turkey and Georgia to Southern Russia. With help from CPCD, the Daimohk will use the laminate floor to reconstruct their bomb-damaged dance hall in Grozny in addition to benefiting from the bus, which will be donated along with the cargo.

DONATE to the Daimohk Appeal here.
